MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 7, 2013 - Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced it was awarded a prime contract by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to provide enterprise-wide technical, engineering, and programmatic support services across eight contract areas consisting of program management, nuclear engineering, training, security management, emergency operations, aviation operations, nuclear nonproliferation and emergency management. The multiple-award blanket purchase agreement has a five-year base period of performance and a total contract value of $300 million for all awardees. NNSA is responsible for the management and security of the nation's nuclear weapons, nuclear nonproliferation, and naval reactor programs; responds to nuclear and radiological emergencies in the United States and abroad; and provides safe and secure transportation of nuclear weapons and components and special nuclear materials. Under the contract, SAIC will provide support services to mission critical national security programs. In the past, SAIC has worked with the NNSA on stockpile stewardship and management, nonproliferation, counterterrorism and counter proliferation, security management and emergency operations. SAIC is a member of the small business team led by TechSource, Inc., which is one of eight small business contractor teams eligible to compete for work under the contract.

"SAIC has a long history with the NNSA, dating back to the mid-1980s," said JT Grumski, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "We look forward to continuing our support of the nation's nuclear mission."
