Telematics Update has announced that free registration is now open for the exclusive webinar: ‘The Evolution of Business Models in Automotive Connectivity’. It will explore innovative business models to accelerate the uptake of connected vehicle services and applications.

The free interactive event will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10am ET and is open to the entire connected vehicle community! Register here: http://www.telematicsupdate.com/detroit/webinar.php
In 2013, it is estimated that the global connected car market will be worth $21.82bn in 2013, as connectivity reaches beyond the luxury vehicles, penetrating all vehicle segments. Telematics Update Director, Gareth Ragg stated, “Despite exciting growth in the connected vehicle market, the question of how consumers and automakers are set to pay for on-demand connectivity remains unsolved.”

He continued, “With Auto-OEM and network operators approaching the delivery of in-vehicle content with a diverse range of business models and there is a real need to confront the fundamental question of how to create a proposition that ignites the uptake and retention of connected vehicle services.”

To get to grips with these key developments in the business of the connected vehicle, Telematics Update has organised a live webinar entitled ‘The Evolution of Business Models in Automotive Connectivity’. The 45 minute session includes live Q&A's and will be delivered by key industry figures, including:
•    Doug Claus, Manager - Product Requirements, Development & Connected Drive, BMW
•    Tim Johnson, Global Business Development Manager, Sprint Velocity

The debate will cover:
•    The direction of OEM connectivity plans such as subscription, transactional and personalized advertising to create the data allowance for consumers to engage with telematics services
•    How to balance attractive consumer-facing application integration with powerful internal vehicle management capabilities to create a complete connected car value proposition
•    Generating revenues from ads and content with a subsidized model and create ‘indispensable services’ so you can build a suite of applications in-line with consumer expectations
•    Establish strategies for monetization versus growing an engaged consumer base to deliver revenues through connected vehicle services

The webinar is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand how some of the premier thought-leaders in the telematics ecosystem are strategizing to adapt to the new revenue opportunities and challenges presented by the connected vehicle.

The webinar can be joined for free at: http://www.telematicsupdate.com/detroit/webinar.php
