Dayton suburb moves beyond outdated, paper-based system to innovative Accela technology solution for building permit approvals and inspections
ENGLEWOOD, Ohio, Dec. 6, 2012 – Accela, Inc., the leading provider of web, mobile, and cloud-based software exclusively for government, today announced the city of Englewood, Ohio selected Accela Automation® enterprise software, deployed in the Accela Cloud by monthly subscription. The “Software as a Service” model (SaaS) will enable this Montgomery County town to transition from outdated paper-based processes to a web-based service delivery model for more efficient building permit approvals and inspections, and code enforcement.
With a population of over 13,000, Englewood could be “Anytown, USA.” Located ten miles north of Dayton, this Rust Belt Suburb is representative of many towns throughout the United State where diligent men and women work to pay their mortgage, send their children to college, and take an annual family vacation. Despite Englewood’s modest size, the town can still afford the expense of Accela Automation by subscription for the measurable results of greater government productivity and citizen engagement.
In addition to using enterprise-level Accela Automation, the Englewood Building and Zoning Department will benefit from Accela Citizen Access™, a user-friendly web portal that gives the public and tradespeople an intuitive interface for initiating and tracking permits, licenses, service requests and more. Using Accela Mobile Office™, processing capabilities will be extended to field workers using iOS, Android, and Windows phones or tablets. Englewood will benefit from Accela’s growing mobile ecosystem, with access to the role-based apps Accela Inspector™, Accela Code Officer™, Accela Work Crew™, and Accela Analytics™ for staff in the field.
“We’re delighted that Englewood, Ohio, will realize the advantages of Accela Automation equal to that of any other town or city, regardless of size,” said Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO. “By subscribing to Accela Automation in the Accela Cloud, Englewood will be able to ramp up quickly to offer its government staff and citizens a more efficient process for building permit approvals, building inspections, and code enforcement without having to make an investment in infrastructure or additional staff.”
Implementation of Accela Automation in Englewood will be completed by Accela Value Added Reseller, Kings Canyon Technology, a global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing companywhose staff expertise includes systems development and implementation, workflow, system support, interface development, and function integration.
