Enhanced GIS management package maximizes value of geospatial resources
Huntsville, Ala., December 4, 2012 – IntergraphÒannounces the upcoming release of GeoMedia® 2013 as part of Intergraph Geospatial Portfolio 2013. A powerful GIS management package that enables users to realize the maximum value of their geospatial resources, GeoMedia 2013 will provide further simultaneous access to geospatial data in almost any form, uniting them in a single map view for efficient processing, analysis, presentation and sharing.
GeoMedia provides intuitive, dynamic analysis. This means the results of one operation feed directly into the next process. In addition, users also experience automatic updating of results in response to data changes. GeoMedia 2013 provides a newly streamlined and modern user interface, improved display performance and much more.
“Today, organizations need to be able to fully maximize their geospatial resources to power all decision making,” said Mladen Stojic, Vice President – Geospatial, Intergraph. “With a modern look, enhanced performance and unrivaled depth, GeoMedia 2013 is the industry’s GIS alternative. With GeoMedia, organizations can access geospatial data in nearly any form and unite this data into a single view.”
The newly streamlined and modernized interface logically groups commands into a ribbon control. This experience is similar to that of Microsoft Office and ERDAS IMAGINE. The display performance is increased tremendously, significantly improving data access and display time. In cases where feature records are large (more than 500,000 features), access time will decrease from 1.5 minutes to a few seconds.
In addition, users will be able to position labels quicker and without ambiguity. Users can create static labels for cartographic production or for use in other projects. Dynamic labels are another option which repositions labels automatically as the user pans or zooms.
GeoMedia 2013 allows customers to leverage the ERDAS APOLLO® catalog explorer to access raster and image files. For customers with a large image or raster repository, this makes finding the most appropriate data for display in GeoMedia easier than ever before.
Intergraph is launching Intergraph Geospatial 2013 later this year. The united portfolio includes new releases of GeoMedia, ERDAS IMAGINE, LPS, ImageStation, ERDAS APOLLO, GeoMedia Smart Client, GeoMedia Web Map, Geospatial Portal, and Geospatial SDI. In this modern and dynamic release, users will be able to discover and exploit the wealth of information contained in data from any source, share it rapidly (and securely), and deliver it on demand as reliable and actionable information to drive smarter decisions.
