DigitalGlobe and DMTI Spatial Partner to Offer an Integrated Satellite Imagery and Vector Product  E-mail
Written by DigitalGlobe and DMTI Spatial
10 August 2004
Longmont, Colo., August 10, 2004 – DigitalGlobe®, provider of the world’s highest resolution commercial satellite imagery and geospatial information products, and DMTI Spatial™  (Markham, Ontario, Canada), Canada’s leading provider of comprehensive geospatial products and services, have partnered to offer a co-branded satellite imagery and vector data solution.

Through this partnership, DMTI Spatial will integrate QuickBird 60-centimeter resolution satellite imagery with its road network fabric product, CanMap® Streetfiles, to create 1:10,000 Ortho Mosaics of major Canadian Metropolitan Areas. DigitalGlobe and DMTI Spatial will provide the co-branded product to customers through direct sales and reseller channels beginning in September 2004.

The product will benefit a wide range of users from various industries including telecommunications, utilities, public safety, real estate, and federal and local governments.  The solution has applications for any business that relies on location as a component of its operations or planning.  For customers requiring assistance in the implementation and customization of the co-branded product, DMTI Spatial and DigitalGlobe will offer professional services tailored to the customer’s specific needs, including integration with customer data, DMTI Spatial products or other third-party data.

“This co-branded product will leverage the strengths of DigitalGlobe’s high-resolution satellite imagery and DMTI Spatial’s detailed street network data,” said Kara John, DMTI Spatial’s director, Business Development. “The addition of high-resolution satellite imagery will add even greater value to customer mapping and planning applications.”

“DMTI Spatial’s CanMap product suite is the perfect complement to DigitalGlobe’s high-resolution satellite imagery products,” said Steve Jennings, DigitalGlobe’s vice president of marketing. “Brought together, our technologies will enhance customers’ ability to perform detailed analysis, map creation and map visualization. This is the kind of value-added offering I know customers will immediately benefit from.”

About DigitalGlobe

DigitalGlobe is the clear leader in the global commercial Earth imagery and geospatial information market. The company’s technical superiority and innovation, unparalleled commitment to customer service, extensive business partner network and open systems philosophy make DigitalGlobe the preferred supplier of satellite and aerial imagery and value-added products. In 2001, DigitalGlobe launched what remains the world’s highest resolution commercial satellite today, QuickBird. The company will launch its next-generation WorldView system no later than 2006, while the competition has no plans to launch a satellite comparable to either QuickBird or WorldView before 2008. QuickBird has collected and stored in its ImageLibrary hundreds of thousands of Earth image scenes covering over a hundred million square kilometers, and collects an additional one million square kilometers each week. These new and historical images are essential for customers who map and plan for change in our world. DigitalGlobe is based in Longmont, Colo., USA. For more information visit www.digitalglobe.com/
