ARLINGTON, VA. (November 26, 2012)… Woolpert, a national geospatial, design and infrastructure management consulting firm, recently announced that Qassim Abdullah, PhD, CP, PRM, RPP, has joined the firm’s Arlington office.

An innovator in digital aerial imagery and LiDAR acquisition, Dr. Abdullah joins Woolpert with more than 30 years of combined industrial, research and development and academic experience in analytical photogrammetry, digital remote sensing and civil and surveying engineering.

Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Abdullah has developed proprietary software applications and integrated airborne GPS as well as LiDAR data acquisition, including development of precise positioning algorithms and processes.

Dr. Abdullah is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and has published more than 50 technical papers and reports throughout his career. He is a member of the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), and was the 2010 recipient of the organization’s prestigious Fairchild Award. He is also a member of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
