New Century Software releases enhanced version of Centerline Browser, a Web GIS tool for quick visual access of pipeline GIS data and networks

As an Esri ArcGIS Server application, Centerline Browser is an essential tool for pipeline operators who need to share PODS GIS data with a wide variety of users within the organization
Fort Collins, Colorado. September 11, 2012 -  New Century Software (http://www.newcenturysoftware.com) announces the release of version 3.1 of their web-enabled Centerline Browser. Powered by Microsoft Silverlight, this advanced web tool uses ArcGIS Server map services to provide oil and gas operators with a quick and easy way of viewing and analyzing maps, as well as sharing PODS-related pipeline and facility GIS data within their organization.

This latest release of Centerline Browser enables management, operations, and integrity teams to perform a wide variety of tasks, such as finding addresses, viewing map alignment sheets, measuring areas and distances, and obtaining engineering stationing. Operators can also search the underlying PODS database to extract key data they need on the job. Search results can be displayed onscreen or exported for further review and reporting.

Todd Porter, Vice President and COO of New Century Software comments, "Centerline Browser's functionality extends well beyond ArcGIS Server’s out-of-the-box Web mapping to create a simple way to visually search, view, and report pipeline data." He adds, "Centerline Browser has been rewritten from the ground up to provide intuitive functionality, allowing a variety of individuals in an organization - regardless of PODS-specific training – to take charge of the pipeline data securely, effectively, through a web browser."

The 3.1 release of Centerline Browser provides many significant improvements in the PODS-enabled web mapping platforms.  Some of the major features include:

  • Address Geolocation
  • Enhanced Identify functionalities
  • Integration with New Century Software SheetCutter Server alignment sheets
  • Enhanced methods to search and filter PODS tabular data
  • Enhanced methods to associate PODS events with pipeline assets

For those interested in seeing a demo, New Century will be exhibiting in booth 706 at the International Pipeline Conference the last week in September or you can contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
