10 September 2012

THE INTERNATIONAL Association of Hydrogeologists Congress (IAH) at Niagara Falls, is the venue for the unveiling of a critical new function within GeoVisionary.  “We’ll be showing GeoVisionary 4D for the first time”, said Andy O’Keeffe, Virtalis’ GeoVisionary Product Manager.  “What’s the Fourth Dimension?  Well, it is time.  We’ll be using British Geological Survey (BGS) hydrology datasets to demonstrate how they have altered over time.  GeoVisionary 4D allows users like the UK’s Centre for Ecology and Hydrology to derive new insights from their pre-existing data, as they can closely analyse, interpret and visualise changes as time passes.”

IAH, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, will run from September 16th-21st, with the IAH Expo running between 16thand18th.  The BGS/Virtalis booth is 23-24.

GeoVisionary was developed by Virtalis, in collaboration with BGS, as 3D software for the high-resolution visualisation of elevation and photography data overlaid with a wide range of geospatial data.

photography data overlaid with a wide range of geospatial data.  One of the major advantages GeoVisionary offers over other visualisation software (3 & 4D GIS) is its ability to integrate very large volumes of data from multiple sources and interact with it in real time.

Visitors to the GeoVisionary booth will be able to explore BGS data, including deviated boreholes, in stunning Virtual Reality (VR).  Virtalis will enable delegates to become immersed in the 3D data thanks to its ActiveMove portable VR system, which will feature prominently on the booth with its eight foot wide screen and tented canopy
