New Investment Accelerates Development of AnyPresence's
Mobile Platform-as-a-Service, Sales Growth, and Customer
Success
RESTON, Va., Aug. 15, 2012 -- AnyPresence, a leading
cloud-based mobile platform provider, today announced that
it has raised $5.5 million in Series B funding to further
accelerate the company's growth and customer success.
Grotech Ventures, the early lead investor in LivingSocial,
led the round with participation from existing investor,
Kinetic Ventures. AnyPresence has already exceeded its 2012
revenue targets, building a strong case for broader
investment to help the company meet demand for its mobile
platform-as-a-service solution.
"This additional funding is further endorsement of
AnyPresence's unique technology and vision of how companies
of all sizes can accelerate their mobile projects," said
Anirban Chakrabarti, CEO and co-founder. "We have built a
business-class solution that dramatically reduces the
time-to-market for deploying mobile apps and plan to use
this funding to invest in product development, sales growth,
and ensuring the success of our customers."
"We are very excited about the potential of the AnyPresence
platform and the initial success they are experiencing,"
said Lawson DeVries, General Partner at Grotech Ventures.
"We believe that the combination of this strong team and
this capital infusion will be able to advance the company's
technology lead and generate market momentum."
Drawing on their collective experience developing technology
solutions while at Siebel Systems, Oracle, and SAP, the
AnyPresence team has launched a mobile platform-as-a-service
that helps businesses overcome the hurdles of building,
deploying, and maintaining mobile apps. The AnyPresence
solution includes a Web-based designer for cross-platform
app development and a mobile "backend-as-a-service," with
the ability to connect to a variety of data sources within
the enterprise. The run-time components can be compiled and
deployed instantly to scalable cloud infrastructure. All
source code generated by AnyPresence is 100% native and
available to customers should they require further
customization or on-premise hosting options, with absolutely
no platform "lock-in."
AnyPresence is currently working with customers in the
healthcare, communications, and services sectors to
accelerate their mobile initiatives by using the AnyPresence
mobile platform-as-a-service. The solution also includes
pre-built mobile app templates to further accelerate mobile
projects for consumer or employee-facing needs.
"Kinetic is excited to provide continued support for
AnyPresence as they execute on their vision," said Jake
Tarr, Managing Director at Kinetic Ventures. "As the
frenzied pace of mobile device and app adoption continues,
solutions like AnyPresence will help business scale
efficiently to meet the demand."
