At the Esri International User Conference in San Diego, geo-data service provider Europa Technologies has announced the latest version of its market-leading family of global data products.
The 2012.2 release introduces a number of significant improvements including:
·Enhancements to road network for Europe
·Updated international and 1st/2nd level administrative boundaries
·New mountain ranges layer
·Comprehensive airport layer update
·More hi-resolution coastlines
·Updated time zones with DST
The new release also delivers thousands of minor updates and improvements.
In addition to comprehensive maintenance, Europa Technologies has announced a new programme of content development. Under this new initiative, the company will work with industry partners to provide valuable complementary content for the global product suite, at no extra cost. Under the initiative, the 2012.2 release includes a new layer depicting global scheduled flights. Connecting the departure and arrival airports by an illustrative great circle path, the data also includes flight time and distance. The new layer is a useful addition for transportation planners who can now identify the existence of direct flights.
Supporting the company's eco-initiatives, online product delivery on a quarterly basis is available.
Company director and founder Warren Vick, said: “As the choice of Fortune Global 500 companies, governments and missions of the United Nations, Europa Technologies is an acknowledged market leader in global mapping.
