RALEIGH, N.C. (June 25, 2012)… Woolpert, a national infrastructure management, geospatial and design firm, announced today it has been selected by the City of Raleigh to implement Cityworks®, a GIS-centric asset management system. This system will streamline maintenance operations and expand asset management capabilities for the city’s Public Utilities, Public Works, Solid Waste and Parks and Recreation departments.
The project will expand upon the successes the city has realized through the use of Cityworks within Parks and Recreation over the last few years. Woolpert will update the city’s existing Cityworks users to the latest web-based version of the software as part of this enterprise deployment effort. Woolpert and the city will leverage the back-office and mobile capabilities of the Cityworks solution to re-engineer existing infrastructure operations and maintenance (O&M) workflows to streamline business processes and enhance the asset management decisioning processes.
As part of the enterprise deployment, Woolpert will integrate the Cityworks solution with a number of core city business applications, including PeopleSoft (payroll, HR, finance), Oracle (customer information system), the city’s new Master Address Database, MicroPAVER (pavement management), Vehicle Routing and SeeClickFix (public service request/crowd-sourcing).
“Through this enterprise implementation, the city will greatly enhance its infrastructure management O&M and decision support capabilities,” said Ed Singer, Woolpert Project Director. “The life cycle asset management capabilities enabled by the Cityworks solution support the city’s asset sustainability initiatives, empowering the city’s workforce and citizens to be better stewards of the city’s resources.”
