The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is for the first time bringing its invaluable programming to the Denver Front Range area, to include Buckley Air Force Base.
On Sept. 11 and 12, USGIF along with the Advanced Technical Intelligence Association (ATIA), will offer both a classified and an unclassified day of presentations and networking opportunities with others in the GEOINT Community.
This workshop is aimed at engaging USGIF and ATIA Member Organizations in the Rocky Mountain and Inter-Mountain West. The intent is to provide opportunities to present and discuss technical topics of interest, to have an opportunity to network, and to learn more about the organizations.
The USGIF/ATIA Technical Workshop begins Sept. 11 with a wide range of unclassified presentations on geospatial intelligence topics. Senior government and industry leaders will speak in the morning and the afternoon will feature a series of presentations selected from submissions on GEOINT and MASINT. A classified session of speakers and discussion will take place on Sept. 12 at Buckley Air Force Base.
We are working hard to provide you with the best possible event, and more information about agenda and registration will be available next month on the USGIF website.
USGIF and ATIA are now accepting proposals for the USGIF/ATIA Technical Workshop as outlined below. All submissions must be emailed to technical @usgif.org on or before 11:59 PM ET on July 19.
Submission Requirements:
Submissions are open only to USGIF or ATIA Members, and we particularly encourage proposals from personnel who work in the Colorado Front Range Intermountain West region. While presentations selected will not be limited to submissions from this region, we will give strong consideration to these submissions.
Topic Themes:
Presentation proposals do not need to fall into a specific thematic category. Topics such as LiDAR, Airborne, Satellite Imagery, Geospatial Analytics, GIS, ISR, Data Management, and others will be considered. Proposals are not limited to these topic areas but must be relevant to the interoperable NSG.
Proposal Guidelines:
Presentations will be limited to 15 minutes in length. Each presentation will be followed by a 5 minute Questions and Answer period which will be moderated by a USGIF representative.
Technical Workshop Presentations are not corporate marketing pitches. This is an opportunity to recognize individual or organizational efforts in technical interoperability, implementation and innovation for the NSG. USGIF and ATIA are membership organizations representing the Geospatial and Measurement and Signatures Intelligence Communities and as such presenters must keep in mind their responsibility to represent community needs and interests.
Presenters should keep in mind the USGIF and ATIA Missions and the focus on technology aspects of the NSG.
Submissions should include the following information on the first page: label of "Submission for USGIF/ATIA Technical Workshop," title of the proposed presentation, name of the presenting organization, name of the presenter and his or her title, and finally an abstract no more than a single-page, single-spaced in Arial 12 pt font with 1-inch margins.
Proposals are to be in English.
Selection:
Up to 12 proposals may be selected by a USGIF/ATIA Review Committee. Presenters will be notified of selection on or about July 27. Any slides required for selected presentations are due to USGIF no later than August 15. All presenters will be required to register and pay the appropriate registration fee.
