This week in San Fran at their annual Developer lovefest, Apple introduced developers, partners and others to the road ahead including word about Maps at iOS 6. In this much anticipated announcement Apple described details of their designed from the ground up offering, by Apple including the following features and functionality:
interactive 3D views
turn by turn voice guided directions
FlyOver feature
Vector-based engine for crisp graphics, smooth pan and response
Tilt and rotate UI
3D perspective view with navigation
Map rerouting and ETA update on missed turns
Real time traffic data and alternative route options
