Dayton, Ohio - June 6, 2012 - Statesboro Georgia Public Works and Utilities departments acquire Freeance Mobile to build mobile GIS applications for field workers. Statesboro, Georgia has a population of 27,000 and supplies natural gas, water, wastewater and solid waste services.
Looking for an easy-to-use mobile application that can be utilized on any smartphone or tablet and also be created and maintained by in-house resources, Freeance Mobile was selected by the City because it utilizes the existing Esri GIS mapping.
City GIS and IT staff will build custom applications using Freeance Mobile allowing field crews to find system locations and map new features with their Android and iPhone devices.
City expects to decrease service response time to citizens while also decreasing cost of fuel accomplished by reducing the number of trips and maximizing efficiency for routing service calls
Freeance Mobile uses live GIS data and records, field information is sent directly to the City’s enterprise databases, saving the City time and effort by eliminating data downloading and conversion.
