Cortado continues to introduce industry leading file sharing technologies
(Berlin/Denver, May 30, 2012) Cortado, the leading provider of cloud desktop services, introduces a completely redesigned version of its free cloud desktop app Cortado Workplace with new advanced features that will optimally support the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) for smartphones and tablets. Cortado Workplace now provides a complete cloud desktop and central cloud storage for all devices – in the form of an app for the iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, and through an HTML5 client for PC and Mac.
Cortado Workplace's unique remote document viewing technology allows users to view documents without having to download them. This reduces both the time and costs of data transfer and guarantees even faster access to files. In addition to the preview function, Cortado Workplace provides numerous new features and improvements in user-friendliness.
Auto Upload and Auto Download: Unlike conventional synchronization solutions, Auto Upload and Auto Download for Cortado Workplace uses an intelligent one-way synchronization that avoids overloading the Android smartphone or tablet with a large number of PC files, or that a file on the tablet is lost when it's deleted from the desktop computer.
Auto Upload automatically copies the contents of local folders on the Android device to Cortado Workplace's online storage and changes are automatically synchronized. This gives users instant access from their PC or any other device to their files, for example the latest photos or important documents. To automatically synchronize or back up files, Android users simply select a local folder on the smartphone or tablet and its contents are automatically uploaded to Cortado Workplace.
Auto Download automatically downloads the contents of the cloud directory to the Android device. This gives users access at any time, even offline, with their smartphone or tablet to presentations saved on a PC or Mac, for example, and can edit them during a flight.
To ensure mobile data usage isn't overburdened, users can set the Auto Upload and Auto Download to run only if there is a Wi-Fi connection.
Export as PDF and ZIP: With the "Export" option, users convert files in an instant to PDF or ZIP formats. This is convenient when users need to convert a file type without opening the document, for example, if a contract or confidential document is sent by email, but the recipient isn't supposed to be able to edit them. The user can easily change the file type without having to open the document. In addition, users can also make many different files available in a single file packet with a few clicks – directly from the Android device.
Optimized Printing: As the founder of the Cloud Printing Alliance, Cortado is constantly increasing the number of supported printer models from over 90 printer manufacturers worldwide, so that users can print out their documents on thousands of printer models. Even the printing of test pages and backgrounds has been optimized in the new version of Cortado Workplace. Cortado Workplace can be downloaded free from your app store.
