The joint GSDI World Conference (GSDI 13), the 14th GEOIDE Annual Scientific Conference, the 7th 3DGeoInfo Conference, and the Canadian Geomatics Conference 2012 will take place in Québec City, Canada from May 14 to May 17, 2012.
The theme for this conference is Spatially Enabling Government, Industry and Citizens. Geographic information technologies and spatial data infrastructure play critical roles in allowing governments, local communities, non-government organizations, the commercial sector, the academic community and common people to make progress in addressing many of the world's most pressing problems. All sectors of society are becoming spatially enabled and contributing to the development of the global spatial data infrastructure. This conference will explore the complementary roles of all these communities in realizing better means for sharing geographic data and technologies and developing improved location-based services for meeting real world needs.
Natural Resources Canada’s GeoConnections program is proud to be a Gold sponsor for this event and will be making presentations on different aspects of the Canadian SDI.
Come and see us at our Natural Resources Canada pavilion (exhibit space 9-10-11-12). Representatives from GeoConnections, Canadian Centre for Remote Sensing and Centre for Topographic Information (Sherbrooke) will be on place to answer your questions. Specific activities will take place each day at our exhibit space.
Further, the Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources Canada, has been invited to provide the keynote address during the opening ceremony.
The conference program has been released. Please visit: http://www.gsdi.org/gsdiconf/gsdi13/index.html to see the full schedule, and start planning for the sessions, exhibits, workshops, and social events.
