About the campus
Tropical North Queensland TAFE's campuses are situated throughout the Far North of Australia, in the State of Queensland. Campuses are located from Tully in the South to Thursday Island in the north with locations on the Tablelands and Cape York Peninsula. TAFE also teaches in hundreds of remote areas throughout the Far North. The main campus is in Cairns, Queensland, a modern city of some 120,000 people. In 1995 Cairns was named Australia's most liveable regional centre, which is reflected in it's high growth rate, and its popularity as a tourist destination. Cairns is adjacent to the one of the natural wonders of the world - the Great Barrier Reef - with easy access to the reef for diving and fishing. The region also contains; the World Heritage listed, Wet Tropics Rainforest, with an abundance of unique flora & fauna; and the savannah, the beginning of Outback Australia. The region is truly a tropical adventure paradise.
