Webinar - Learn to Create ArcGIS for Desktop Add-ins with Python E-mail
GIS News - Webinars and Online Training
Written by Esri
13 April 2012

Developers and GIS professionals use add-ins such as buttons, dockable windows, and menus to customize Esri's ArcGIS for Desktop. Python was recently added to the list of programming languages used to author add-ins.

To familiarize developers and GIS professionals with how to use Python to create these add-ins, Esri will host a free live training seminar, Creating Desktop Add-ins Using Python (for ArcGIS 10.1), on April 19, 2012.

After watching this seminar, you will understand how to do the following:

  • Define different types of add-ins using the Python Add-in wizard.
  • Edit the Python script to include your business logic.
  • Install, debug, and test add-ins.
  • Share and deploy your add-ins.

This live training seminar is aimed at GIS professionals and developers who want to use Python to add functionality to ArcGIS for Desktop. Familiarity with ArcGIS for Desktop and Python is recommended.

A broadband Internet connection and an Esri Global Account will be needed to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Global Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address.
