emapsite has won a place on the Software as a Service lot of the Government Procurement Service’s much vaunted G-Cloud procurement.
The initial tender appeared in October 2011 and further to emapsite’s successful bid, the emapsite inside service has been approved on the G-Cloud framework.
The G-Cloud framework covers all aspects of cloud computing and is a significant step reflecting both the government’s effort to transform information technology procurement and its commitment to cloud services.
Following this approval process emapsite is able to include details of the emapsite inside service in the Government’s CloudStore, their catalogue of suppliers and services in the G-Cloud framework.
This enables users to easily identify and select services that match their requirements and their procurers to use the e-marketplace to expedite delivery of the required services.
emapsite inside is an established web services framework for the discovery and delivery of location content. It allows users to focus on their core business without having to invest in the software or infrastructure that typically accompanies many applications and solutions that need geographic data.
emapsite is a Premier Partner of Ordnance Survey and has a portfolio of public sector users and contractors who benefit from the functionality of emapsite inside.
James Cutler, CEO at emapsite, said: “We are very pleased that our emapsite inside service has received approval for inclusion within the G-Cloud framework.Aspects of emapsite inside functionality have been developed in response to challenges faced by public sector organisations in accessing and distributing geographic data and so we look forward to the opportunity to widen and deepen our relationships thanks to our presence on the G-Cloud.”
