Cyber Information Systems Business Unit General Manager Honored for Contributions in Thought Leadership, Cybersecurity Innovation and Signals Intelligence

MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 7, 2012 --Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced that Federal Computer Week has named Larry Cox, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, to its list of leaders who affect change, progress and efficiency in determining how the federal government acquires, develops and manages information technology (IT). The annual listing honors 100 individuals from government, industry and academia who have played pivotal roles in the federal government IT community.

Cox and other winners will be honored during the 23rd Annual Federal 100 awards gala March 28 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.

Cox leads over 2,200 professionals responsible for driving the company's innovation and thought leadership in cybersecurity and signals intelligence (SIGINT) for federal, commercial, and international customers. He is responsible for the continued performance and growth of more than $700M in annual revenue as well as future pipeline and two subsidiaries focused on cybersecurity technologies. Cox frequently speaks on vision and strategy for addressing global cybersecurity challenges and opportunities and as SAIC's lead Maryland executive, is actively engaged in various advisory councils.

Dedicated to driving more professionals to a cybersecurity career, Cox co-founded the Maryland Cyber Challenge and Conference (MDC3), a nonprofit event, in collaboration with Freeman Hrabowski, the president of UMBC and CyberMaryland. Cox spearheaded this unique competition and conference, blazing a new trail in public and private collaboration for cybersecurity outreach and education. 312 challengers on 52 teams competed for more than $100,000 in awards during the competition, including $84,000 in scholarships from the National Security Agency (NSA). Cox's vision and leadership have helped bring together the best cyber minds, resulting in a cross-generational cybersecurity competition impacting hundreds of students and professionals.

"Larry's talented leadership style, capacity for setting a vision and leading the way forward, and his collaboration with his peers make him an immeasurable asset to the cybersecurity community," said Walt Havenstein, SAIC chief executive officer. "I'm pleased that his contributions have been recognized by this important distinction."
