The Geogathering Conference, tailored to pipeline operators involved with Gathering & Production, shifts to a biennial schedule

Fort Collins, Colorado. January 25, 2012 – New Century Software announces the successful GeoGathering Conference is transitioning to a more popular, every-other-year schedule to accommodate increased attendance, improved planning, and an exciting new format.

New Century Software has hosted the conference for the last five years, resulting in a positive trend in attendance each year. Last year the attendance represented approximately 75 different companies and 20 operator presentations sessions, including best practice advice on pipeline integrity management, regulations, field data capture, implementing new GIS technology, and important updates from PHMSA and other industry associations.

In 2011, the Conference welcomed new committee team members full of energy and new ideas to revamp the look and feel of the conference, upgrade the topic approach, and increase support for the presenters. Switching to a biennial schedule will allow the committee to plan and host a conference in 2013 with a unique and innovative agenda.

Conference committee member Todd Porter is excited about the changes in store. “This conference is growing in many dimensions, and with saturation in the market, we’re elevating the conference to the next level” says Todd. “In fact, we have a strategic plan to grow the conference with the number one goal to contribute quality information to the oil and gas gathering industry in unique and innovative ways. Some of the changes include welcoming volunteers, restructuring the sponsorships, and implementing a voting system for topics that attendees want to see.”

Victoria Skogman, conference committee member adds, “Switching to every other year is quite common—other popular industry conferences, such as the IPC in Calgary and the Rio Pipeline conference, use this model and find it successful. GeoGathering is an important industry event and we are taking the necessary time to readjust the format and the scheduling.”

If you are thinking about participating in the next GeoGathering conference in 2013, visit this website: http://www.GeoGathering.com. If you would like to participate in group conversations related to industry issues throughout the year, please join the GeoGathering LinkedIn group.
