With the arrival of the New Year comes the formal release of the MapMart Cloud from MapMart.
LONE TREE, COLORADO, January 9, 2012 – MapMart has long been the one-stop shop for traditional geospatial data and imagery acquisition and will remain so. The MapMart Cloud will complement MapMart by offering the same high quality and highly accurate data for consumption via high speed data stream. MapMart Cloud offers hundreds of web services of data sets including Bing Maps from OnTerra Systems, LLC.
“Going to the Cloud is the distinct and immovable trend in geospatial data usage,” said Mike Platt, President and CEO of MapMart. “GIS users have had to deal with downloading and storing ever-growing data sets for too long. We aim to eliminate that issue by housing and maintaining master repositories for all manner of data for on-demand access by anyone at anytime.”
Going forward, the location and usage of GIS data will be faster, cheaper and occur with fewer searching and storage issues. Many of the data sets that were traditionally downloaded locally are now available to stream into nearly any GIS software package.
The MapMart Cloud offers any user the ability to search a site, determine the web services available and begin using those services immediately either on a subscription or per-click basis. MapMart Cloud has also bundled several of the most frequently used data layers as a Core Bundle service at a further reduced rate. The web services include satellite and aerial imagery, topographic, vector and DEM data sets and can also accept nearly any other spatial data set users have to upload and store data within their personal Clouds.
MapMart offers a wide variety of U.S. and International geospatial data sets with additional data products coming online daily that can help paint a clearer picture of project areas. Some of the products currently available include:
Bing Maps Imagery and Street Data from Onterra Systems, LLC
GeoEye Satellite and Aerial Imagery via EyeQ
Astrium / SPOT Satellite Imagery
RapidEye Satellite Imagery
WhiteStar Data
Harris TerraColor, Globe15 and CONUS10 US Imagery
