Victoria, Canada & New York, NY, 11-07-2011 — OpenGeo, the open source technology leader behind the OpenGeo Suite, has announced the official opening of it’s office in Victoria, Canada. This location accommodates a significant growth in OpenGeo staff and will serve as a hub to support West Coast and Canadian clients. Amongst others, the office will house geospatial veterans and winners of the prestigious Sol Katz Award for achievement in open source geospatial software Paul Ramsey (2008 recipient) and Martin Davis (2011 recipient).

When announcing the opening, Eddie Pickle, COO, remarked, "With the impressive level of geospatial capabilities within Victoria, our recent hiring activity and the increase in our West Coast and Canadian clientele, Victoria is a natural fit for OpenGeo expansion. This office is one of many ways we’re investing to better serve our clients and the open source products we support. The Victoria office will serve numerous functions around the development of open source software and will be central central to OpenGeo’s global support network.
