Esri has just released the ArcGIS mobile app for Android, now available in the Android market.
Functioning just like you see on iOS, the app enables users to easily connect their ArcGIS Online account via mobile and continue with the experience. Users can easily view WMS services from ArcGIS online.
Quick access via touch can accomplish the following:
Geocode a point to retrieve address and lat/long coords
pinch touch to zoom in/out
measure distance and areas
start GPS and move map to user location
search places
view your saved maps – for example, I created a map of POIs using iPad and can now view it on Android device
view map details / meta data
find maps from shared groups, an arcgis server, or the map gallery
About the app – Use ArcGIS to discover a community of hosted maps from ArcGIS OnlineArcGIS is a great way to discover and use maps. Maps come to life in ArcGIS. Tap on the map or use your current location and discover information about what you see. You can query the map, search and find interesting information, measure distances and areas of interest and share maps with others. (Source: Android Market)
