The USGOVT has released the newest version of their annual LandScan Global Population data.
LandScan shows the geographical distribution of ambient population at one-kilometer resolution and at certain scales also shows demographic (age, gender) data.
This is the thirteenth vintage of LandScan BUT this year East View has loaded the all new LandScan Global 2010 dataset into a user-friendly online interface (see below) so that anyone, not just GIS specialists, can utilize the tools and data found in LandScan. LandScan is useful to GIS departments, social scientists, market researchers, demographers, telecom network planners, insurance analysts, and more.
LandScan 2010 has itself improved over the 2009 version utilizing even higher resolution satellite imagery over larger swaths of Earth and richer census and demographic source materials.
