... Positional Accuracy Improvement services for South West Water, UK
NEWARK CA, July 13, 2004: RMSI, a global IT services company, announced today that RMSI and their consortium partner Landmark Government, which is a part of Landmark Information Group Ltd, were awarded a contract to carry out Positional Accuracy Improvement (PAI) processes for South West Water Ltd (SWW), UK.
Over the past year SWW has undertaken an extensive evaluation process covering all aspects of the Positional Accuracy Improvement (PAI) solutions, which are currently available. The culmination of this was the implementation of a pilot program to establish the most appropriate and cost effective route for SWW to achieve PAI compliance. Under this pilot programme SWW not only evaluated a number of PAI methods and solutions, but also investigated all aspects of the suppliers own experience and capabilities to deliver PAI to the rigorous standards required by SWW.
The consortium, was selected as the preferred supplier and awarded the contract, one of the first of its type in the UK, because of its understanding of SWW’s requirements and working practices combined with its extensive experience of managing large amounts of GI data, its ability to deliver complex PAI solutions and willingness to develop, and work within, a close partnership with SWW.
Andy Willicott, GIS & Services Manager for SWW, commented “They showed an unrivalled understanding of the problems presented to SWW by the PAI issue and, during our pilot study, were the only supplier able to demonstrate the ability to deliver solutions which met the high quality standards we require. Their partnership approach allows us to work together to ensure the optimum result for SWW.” About RMSI Originating in Silicon Valley in 1992, the company was founded and is managed by alumni from Stanford University. Today, RMSI's resource base comprises over 600 software, data and technology specialists. The company is part of one of the UK's largest listed companies, the Daily Mail and General Trust plc. The combination of technical, financial, and human resource strengths, coupled with domain knowledge in many vertical markets, makes RMSI a unique global solution provider.
RMSI's core competency lies in full-service GIS and spatial solutions. This is well supported by strong complementary competencies in application software services and natural hazard risk management. The ability to offer complete solutions, comprising data, software and engineering under one roof, is a key differentiator for the company.
