Via the foursquare blog, we hear that there are now over 500,000 businesses registered on foursquare. This means you have thousands of opportunities to checkin and get deals.
Times are tough and travel can be very tough in these challenging times. Just getting the OK from the boss to take a trip, like perhaps going to San Diego for a week for ESRIUC can be tough to negotiate. So, to make things a little easier on you why not try and get all the deals that you can! Case in point, with half a million businesses on foursquare now there’s plenty of deals to be had simply by checking in! Many businesses have ditched the mayor special (which I find to be boring anyway) and rather, they offer deals for anyone who checks in. It’s now common to get an immediate 10% – 25% off deal from checkin, or perhaps a free drink, heck, some hotels even offer a late checkout simply by checking in on foursquare! Want to locate Checkin specials nearby or in San Diego for next week? Use the service provided at http://www.checkindeals.com/
Another way to score a deal on your trip is by using the TopGuest mobile app. this cool app is designed for hotel guests at major chains to get even more rewards for a stay. Simply link the app to your reward plans (like Hilton, Marriott, Kimpton and others) use app upon checkin and get even more miles as a reward. See details on the app at http://www.topguest.com/
