Once again, in the wake of the latest sever weather incidents and natural disasters, Esri has released a new social news map. The latest web service reveals the latest news and information related to wildfires, including the huge fire burning in Arizona - this fire is currently larger than the area of Los Angeles, CA!
Hitting the news map will bring the user to a map of Arizona, however, a click of the mouse can zoom out to a national scale level showing data from around the country.
Data served up by the app includes a wildfire footprint in Arizona (Wallow fire) along with all current US wildfire locations, flickr photos (images of burns captured by NASA), precipitation data, YouTube video clips, and data on potential wildfire burn areas.
