VANCOUVER, British Columbia June 28, 2004-- Customer service request (CSR) management software, coupled with Class' existing suite of products, allows local governments to increase customer satisfaction and lower costs
Class Software Solutions Ltd., a leading provider of software for community agencies, today announced that its government business unit, Class Government Solutions, has acquired CARe, a customer service request (CSR) management software solution from Orion Technology Inc.
The newly acquired customer service request software is a perfect complement to Class' current enterprise payment management and cashiering solution. Both solutions allow senior management within a municipality to better control human, material and capital resources through detailed reports and measurements.
"Local governments are under tremendous pressure to provide superior customer service," said Ralph Turfus, the CEO of Class Software Solutions Ltd. "This CSR solution allows cities to do that, while effectively managing the workflow and resources behind the scenes."
With Class' new CSR system, a municipality can receive simple FAQ-related information queries and complaints, as well as more complex work order requests. Other key features include the ability for citizens to track and monitor the status of work requests and for cities to integrate GIS and back-end departmental sub systems.
The Town of Markham, Ont., currently uses both Class and CARe. James Allen, the town's chief information officer, said Markham has benefited from a "centralized system to manage and track calls and service requests through our contact center. Now with Class taking over the product, we look forward to the new focus and enhancements that Class will bring."
In nearby Oakville, Ont., the town is already using Class for enterprise-wide payment management and cashiering. It welcomes the addition of a customer service request solution to Class' suite of products.
"Class has proven over and over that it provides high-quality software and support and has demonstrated its capabilities at an enterprise-wide level," said Gord LaLonde, Oakville's IT Director.
Incorporating a CSR solution is an important step in Class' strategic growth plan as a business group and as a partner to local government agencies throughout North America.
"The combination of Class' enterprise payment and cashiering solution and the new customer service request solution will play pivotal roles in fulfilling our local government customers' organizational mandates," said Turfus.
Cascadia Capital, a national investment bank specializing in a number of market sectors including information technology, assisted Class in the acquisition.
