Here's a video shared with us by psigensoftware showing custom integration with the camera that can provide the ability to read all GPS and tag info from photos.
About the video - An overview of the GPS Camera integration within PSI:Capture. Provides an end-to-end solution for auto-processing JPEG photos with embedded data, and posting them to a SharePoint 2010 library. The library is enabled with ESRI's ArcGIS Mapit for SharePoint.
