Dubuque, Iowa - Cartegraph has just announced the release of YourGOV, an innovative new iPhone application that allows citizens to personally report non-emergency issues and service requests.
Inspired by the Gov 2.0 movement and its emphasis on collaboration, participation, and innovation, Cartegraph developed YourGOV to help citizens easily forward their observations and concerns to local governments. In just three steps, YourGOV users can submit issues - such as such as potholes, fallen trees, vandalism, and street light outages - complete with location, unique details, and photos. Once submitted, YourGOV will automatically deliver requests to the appropriate participating organization.
"We see citizen involvement as a vital component in our future vision for connected government," said Cartegraph Vice President of Product Strategy, Jake Schneider. "By connecting citizens and government together, YourGOV opens new lines of communication, providing the access and transparency that helps us build smarter, more sustainable, and more collaborative communities."
YourGOV is the latest addition to an overall suite of Cartegraph applications designed to seamlessly connect workforce, management, and citizens. Unlike competing applications of its kind, YourGOV connects directly to other Cartegraph workflow and asset management applications. This connectivity allows organizations to easily receive and track submitted requests through the entire workflow process while managing important details such as labor, equipment, and other key performance indicators.
Currently, YourGOV is only compatible with the Apple iPhone. However, Cartegraph has plans to make the application available for use on other smartphones, including Blackberry and Droid.
YourGOV is available immediately and can be downloaded free of charge at the iTunes App Store.
