AltaMap Server and/or Desktop

Depending on your deployment strategy, GeoMicro has developed both desktop and web based mapping engines. AltaMap is the only mapping engine with common object model for both desktop and web based version. This eliminates the requirement of two distinct development tracks to support both depoyment strategies and ensures an easy migration path.
AltaMap Server and Desktop provide the core mapping rendering functions such as map display, thematic mapping, pan, zoom, and scale dependencies. In addition, they provide a rich suite if analytical tools for proximity searches, relates to ODBC databases, geofencing, distance calculations, and optional Oracle Spatial connectors.

AltaMap Geocoding Engine

Geocoding is the process of finding locations based on address information. AltaMap Geocoder can also provide reverse geocoding. Geocoding - converts the textual description of a location to longitude and latitude coordinates. Reverse Geocoding - places longitude and latitude point on the map and extracts requested information such as; find nearest address, city, or intersection.

Geocoding is critical to most location-aware applications and thus this feature can be used in conjunction with the others. Geocoding places the beginning and end point for routes, and provides the center point for proximity searches. AltaMap GeoCoder currently locates latitude and longitude coordinates for street addresses, postal codes, landmarks, airports, and more in the United States, as well as for place names.

AltaMap Routing Engine

AltaMap Routing calculates the driving distance and drive times. It can be set to find quickest or shortest route between two locations as well as avoid toll roads and highways. Display includes map of route, turn-by-turn driving directions with street name, and distance as well as incorporating highway signage when available.

AltaMap Streets

Generates clear, aesthetically appealing maps, from a high-level globe to street-level detail. Specify the size of the map in pixels and annotate locations with custom symbols. Show results of proximity searches, driving directions, or shaded areas overlaid on a map. Maps can be fully clickable and interactive for centering, zooming, and making selections on the map. AltaMap Streets supports maps from industry leading sources such as TeleAtlas, NavTech and Enhanced TIGER maps.
