Pictometry Oblique Imagery Being Captured in Spokane County, Wa. E-mail
Written by Pictometry International Corp
19 April 2010

Rochester, NY, April 19, 2010 - Pictometry International Corp., the leading provider of aerial oblique imagery and measuring software, is capturing aerial oblique imagery of Spokane County, Washington this month. The imagery will be utilized by the Spokane County Assessment Office later this year.

"Pictometryr is a technology that has a proven ability to pay for itself and help assessment officers reduce operating costs and even generate revenue for their jurisdictions despite increasing workloads and dwindling resources," said Ralph Baker, Spokane County's Assessment Director.

Baker's office expects the imagery will enable Spokane County to save more than $250,000 in operational costs in the first year of use. The technology can also be easily deployed to additional offices -- including Public Safety/9-1-1, GIS, and planning and development and more -- to enhance additional operating efficiencies and ROI.

"This is a technology we can use to make sure residents receive a fair and equitable property assessment. The bottom line is we can reduce our costs and work more effectively," added Baker, noting that the use of aerial oblique imagery has been recognized by the International Association of Assessment Officers (IAAO) as an approved tool for property analysis.

Pictometry's proprietary image capture process produces Pictometry Intelligent Imagesr. Pictometry images are geo-referenced to enable users to see the fronts and sides of locations from multiple angles and make metric measurements of property features directly on imagery.  The technology is used by Federal, State, County and Municipal offices across the country.

 About Pictometry

Pictometry International Corp. is a leading provider of geo-referenced, aerial image libraries and related software. Pictometry has captured nearly 130 million digital aerial images which represent more than 80 percent of the United States population and all major U.S. markets. Using its proprietary imaging process, Pictometry captures geo-referenced, high-resolution orthogonal (straight down view) and oblique (captured at an angle) imagery within which structures and land features can be measured. Pictometry customizes and markets these technologies for government and commercial applications. Pictometry's standard oblique imagery includes second order visualization tools that do not produce authoritative or definitive information (surveying).
