Powerful domestic & global mapping tool for sales, engineering and call centres
March 16th, 2010 - An online mapping system offering a new and cost-effective way of distributing data and analysis to Oracle end-users is now available from Geoplan. Called MapViewer Online, it allows Oracle customers with large numbers of users to implement Geoplan's state-of-the-art mapping technology to visualise customer and competitor activity, and more effectively target resources to the most profitable locations.
Developed to support staff operating across field sales, field-based engineering or within call centres, MapViewer users can combine market information with their own data to assess market share and understand where business is coming from. This analysis can be delivered to management or remote teams to manage field worker activity, improve sales and service performance.
MapViewer is built for use with Oracle RDBMS and can be easily integrated into existing systems or supplied as a wholly new installation. It can be embedded into internet and intranet applications, such as CRM systems or customised to suit specific needs.
The MapViewer Administrator Tool turns provides control over map distribution and access rights for additional security. The user's own data layers and thematic overlays can be added to create personalised views for users and control access to sensitive information and map views.
"We are offering MapViewer to Oracle end users and resellers alike - it's easy to deploy and training requirements are minimal," explained John Taylor, managing director of Geoplan. "This is part of a major new strategy for Geoplan as we invest in product design and international reach throughout 2010."
