Map My Tracks, the outdoor social network for sports and fitness enthusiasts, has launched OutFront, a comprehensive multi-sport iPhone app for sports enthusiasts.
OutFront provides F1-style performance telemetry for cyclists, runners, sailors and other outdoor sports and lets users track their outdoor activities, review their performance and share the results live on the web with friends, coaches or family around the world.
OutFront is the easiest way to measure your sporting performance, share your activities and improve your training by turning your iPhone into a high performance fitness manager. The app enables you to measure speed, pace, calories burned, elevation gain or loss and much more. It is an ideal app to help keep you motivated and lets you explore thousands of nearby activities from other Map My Tracks users.
OutFront goes beyond simple data logging by providing real-time performance analysis to users during their activity with the option to broadcast their activity on the Map My Tracks website for others to follow as the action unfolds. OutFront is the first app that is compatible with the Map My Tracks event management system that lets event organisers broadcast mass participation events online in real-time.
The OutFront iPhone app includes:
advanced activity tracking with detailed performance statistics including speed, distance, pace, calories burned, elevation and course - all on a clear and easy-to-use interactive map display;
comprehensive personal activity log to better understand the performance and aid training;
access to 1000s of free worldwide routes and activities to analyse, replay and download;
detailed maps, with 3D fly-through in North up or course up follow mode;
GPS compass mode;
offline tracking when no network coverage is available; and
full compatibility with the Map My Tracks event management system.
`Since the start of Map My Tracks, in February 2008, we have continuously increased the range of phones supported by our service to well over 100. We're thrilled to now add the iPhone to the list for people to enjoy.' said Nick Tatt, managing director of Map My Tracks.
`Our app is unique in the way that users can choose to broadcast their activities online in real-time, explore other activities, save and replay favourite routes by others around the world to use as motivation. The Map My Tracks website is used by thousands of people ranging from casual cyclists to elite performance athletes who all wish to better understand, improve their performance and fine tune their training. OutFront will help them do that.'
OutFront has been developed by Map My Tracks and is designed to seamlessly integrate with the Map My Tracks online community at www.mapmytracks.com providing users with access to worldwide route sharing, performance analysis tools and activities replays.
OutFront requires no monthly subscription and is available to download from the App Store for £1.79 (UK).
