Peter Batty rejoins Ubisense as VP of Geospatial Technology  E-mail
Written by Ubisense
27 January 2010

Denver, Colorado, January 27, 2010.  Ubisense, the global leader in precise Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS), is pleased to announce that Peter Batty is rejoining the organization as VP of Geospatial Technology.

Peter is well known as a leader within the geospatial industry. Formerly the CTO of two of the top three geospatial software companies, Intergraph and Smallworld, he was also a co-founder and CTO of Ten Sails, the company that provided early stage funding to and later merged with Ubisense.   Peter will be leading Ubisense's strategy in geospatial consulting, and driving strategic business development efforts in RTLS.

For the past several years, Peter has invested considerable time working with the new generation of web mapping tools, and has spoken and written extensively about how these promise a revolution in the geospatial industry (see his blog at http://geothought.blogspot.com and some of his conference presentations at http://vimeo.com/channels/peterbattygeo).

Peter says "I am excited about the opportunity to help Ubisense and its customers develop their future geospatial strategy in the light of the very rapid changes we are seeing in the industry today. Both GIS and RTLS customers can benefit from the new generation of geospatial tools and techniques".

Richard Green, CEO of Ubisense adds, "We are delighted that Peter is rejoining the business during this pivotal stage in our development.  His vision and excellent communication skills bring immediate benefits to our customers and partners."

Ubisense was founded in 2003, and has continued to grow rapidly during the past few years, expanding into new markets and new territories.  Ubisense boasts a highly experienced geospatial consulting team, dedicated to providing excellent results for their list of blue chip customers.  Ubisense RTLS solutions are used by more than 400 customers in over 25 countries globally.  Recently the company has won the Best British Inside iaward, been ranked 8 in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 2009 and featured in the top 20 of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the second year.
