DownUnder GeoSolutions Extends Integration of DUG Software via the OpenSpirit Interoperability Framework
STAFFORD, TX - October 23, 2009 - Customer demand for greater access to DownUnder GeoSolutions' suite of leading-edge quantitative interpretation software and supporting tools has prompted the company to commercialize their solution. As part of this release, DownUnder is using the OpenSpirit interoperability framework to enable connectivity to multi-vendor applications and data stores and ensure DUG software is immediately integrated and accessible for their users' workflows.
The two most popular tools of the DUG software workflow are DUG Well, which is used for log visualization and manipulation, format conversion, Gassmann substitution and deterministic AVO modeling; and DUG Insight, a 2D and 3D package for seismic interpretation. Until now, only clients who have utilized DownUnder's expertise in seismic processing and depth imaging, quantitative interpretation or integrated petrophysical services have had access to this technology.
To ensure application and data store connectivity and interoperability for as many clients as possible, DownUnder GeoSolutions has chosen to use the OpenSpirit software developer kit. "When considering connectivity, we immediately decided to team with the market-leading OpenSpirit, as we know they provide effective integration among a range of popular E&P applications and data sources," said Matt Lamont, Managing Director of DownUnder GeoSolutions. "The OpenSpirit application and data store connectivity layer will allow even broader opportunities for data exchange and application interoperability, allowing DownUnder to focus on our core business and not data access".
"DownUnder GeoSolutions recognizes that the most efficient and complete decisions are made when data from across the enterprise is leveraged in an easily accessible view," said Dan Piette, President & CEO of OpenSpirit. "We are pleased that the DownUnder team has selected OpenSpirit to extend their reach and give clients more flexibility within their E&P workflows."
