ROCHESTER, NY - June 1, 2004 - Pictometry International Corp., provider of a patented information system that captures digital aerial oblique and orthogonal images, as well as related software, announced today that it has been awarded a two year license agreement to provide software and district-wide imagery to Collin Central Appraisal District.
Pictometry's industry leading software enables users to quickly and easily access up to 12 different high-resolution views of any property, building, highway, landmark, or other feature in a county. The software also enables end users to create measurements directly from the georeferenced imagery as well as insert GIS content and other data. The company has a growing customer list approaching 100 counties and the State of Massachusetts. Major metropolitan areas using Pictometry include Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
Collin Appraisal District is the first central appraisal district in Texas to utilize the georeferenced imaging software system. Located in the northeastern region of Texas and covering over 885 square miles, the appraisal district's territory is home to over 500,000 residents and is one of the fastest growing areas in the state.
"We are always looking for new innovations and technology for the Collin appraisal district. With Pictometry, we are able to provide our employees with leading edge images and software to assist them with their job. At the same time, our entire entity base will be able to benefit from those same images and software for emergency services, homeland security, and planning," said Collin Central Appraisal District, Chief Appraiser Jimmie C. "Pictometry flew the appraisal district area according to the specifications we provided and they delivered the entire project a day before the agreed deadline," said Tammy Johnson, MIS manager for Collin Central Appraisal District.
District MIS Assistant Manager/GIS Project Leader, Ryan Matthews notes that the Pictometry system has quickly become a widely accepted tool that is used every day at the Collin Central Appraisal District. "The ability to view thousands of high quality geographic images through one seamless application containing advanced measurement/processing functions is, in itself, very impressive," said Matthews. "Immediately after the installation we began to see the visual power of the Pictometry product in use with our Appraisal/GIS data and are very excited to see that this product has been received throughout our district as an invaluable, easy-to-use and yes, fun tool. This purchase has been one of the single most exciting and instantly gratifying yet at the district and we are just getting started."
"We are very pleased that Pictometry has been selected to be integrated with Collin County Appraisal District's existing appraisal software infrastructure," said Dante Pennacchia, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at Pictometry.
