New iPhone App Specifically Aimed at Helping Maintain Car Speeds Within the Legal Limit
Los Angeles, CA- September 4, 2009 --ASafeDrive, LLC (www.asafedrive.com) has invented and announced today the availability of ASafeDrive, a unique and life-saving iPhone application that is specifically aimed at helping people maintain their car speed within legal limits throughout the Los Angeles area and soon to broadcast all of the United States. This one of a kind application is taking GPS technology to the next level by eliminating unnecessary speeding tickets as well as reducing the number of accidents that occur each year as a result of speeding.
ASafeDrive is now available from the Apple App. Store within iTunes for the purchase price of $0.99 and can also be found at www.asafedrive.com. The application has rightfully taken its place as one of the only speed limit programs that utilize GPS POI Data (Street Data) as well as reverse geo-coding with Google Maps, The app’s full screen easy to read interface shows the driver’s current driving speed in accordance with their car speedometer and compares it to the accurate street limit data of their current location. The app stands apart from a standard speedometer found within the vehicle as the ASafeDrive displays colors from green to red in line with the drivers current vehicle speed, thus keeping drivers’ eyes on the road and within legal limits. You may also change the settings in this application to access a number of different warnings once you have exceeded the current speed limit from visual, vibrate or set to sound alerts.
“Today, our streets are packed with speed limit signs that are often time misleading and hard to see making driving a personal peril,” reveals entrepreneur Alex BenBassat who designed the ASafeDrive application after purchasing the very first generation of Apples iPhone. He continues, “For the first time on any mobile platform, gives drivers the necessary information to be able to stay within the safe legal driving limits. It all but eliminates any possible confusion while in a moving vehicle.”
The ASafeDrive 1.0 features:
-A large, easy to read interface displaying car’s speed using GPS and the speed limit of that street.
-Color changing speedometer with optional warnings (visual, vibrate or sound).
-The ability for users to input speed limits into program’s online database.
-Ability to leave speed limit feedback that will be incorporated into the content of ASafeDrive’s blog at: http://asafedrive.com/blog
Future speed limit data will be available in major North American cities with New York, Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco already in the pipeline.
Parental controls will be a major part of upcoming versions. For the first time, parents can be alerted via messaging if their child is driving over the speed limits and have the ability to lock certain application functionalities
