ESRI Expands Longstanding Agreement with Tele Atlas for Global Digital Maps and Content, Powering over One Million ESRI Users
ESRI International User Conference
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tele Atlas, a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions, and ESRI today announced an expanded agreement that makes Tele Atlas digital maps and content available in a growing number of ESRI’s leading geographic information system (GIS) applications. This includes content for more than 24 million points of interest (POIs) available through ArcLogistics Navigator as well as additional map enhancement products that can further enrich GIS development. The agreement marks an expansion of the companies’ longstanding industry partnership, which began in 1989.
ESRI technology is used across a range of industries and businesses, including education, enterprise, government, health and human services, public safety, transportation, utilities and communications. Tele Atlas map data serves these markets through a number of ESRI products including Address Coder, ArcGIS Online, ArcLogistics, ArcLogistics Navigator, ArcPad and ESRI StreetMap Premium. Tele Atlas map data is also available through ESRI’s Small Utility Enterprise License Agreement and ESRI’s Small Government Enterprise License Agreement. Notably, every ArcGIS desktop customer – over one million worldwide – has access to Tele Atlas maps through the ESRI Data & Maps DVDs provided with each ArcGIS software license.
“When we began working with Tele Atlas we were still considering the possibilities of GIS technology. Through our partnership we have forged many of the GIS industry’s developments by ensuring that ESRI users around the world have access to high quality geospatial content,” said Jack Dangermond, ESRI. “We are excited to continue our relationship with Tele Atlas as a valued partner for digital maps and location content. Their stringent processes and content enhanced with community input bring even more value to ESRI users.”
“Since we began our collaboration with ESRI 20 years ago, we have worked together to help the industry develop and deliver powerful solutions that address social, economic, business and environmental concerns at local, regional, national and global levels,” said Bill Henry, Tele Atlas CEO. “With ESRI’s leadership position in the GIS market and commitment to quality, we are proud to expand our relationship and look forward to continuing to enable game-changing business applications that rely on location information.”
