Location intelligence, satellites, fixed aircraft and advanced remote-sensing systems combine for a full range of forest inventory options
MORGANTOWN, W. Va.--ImageTree Corporation has signed agreements with GeoEye, Inc., and MJ Harden Associates, Inc., enabling the three companies to cooperatively create, market, sell and deliver commercially viable, management inventory solutions to the forestry industry.
GeoEye and its wholly owned subsidiary MJ Harden are premier, complementary providers of timely, accurate and accessible location intelligence, products and services.
“Under a teaming agreement, ImageTree drives the marketing and proposal phases of any collaborative project,” said ImageTree Executive Vice President George Fulton, who is the ImageTree executive responsible for agreement oversight.
“GeoEye and MJ Harden work closely with us to ensure that we leverage their developing technologies, which not only improve the accuracy and precision of our products, but also provide more efficient data and imagery acquisition and processing, resulting in cost savings for our customers,” he continued.
In the project phase, Fulton added, “We collaborate to customize a remote-sensing solution for each project that meets all agreed-to quality-assurance requirements for both collection and processing.”
A separate master services agreement, he said, calls for MJ Harden to provide LiDAR, CIR and other specialized imagery collection services, in addition to data conversion, application development, and other services, as required.
“Projects are completed on a contract basis and could require use of GeoEye’s satellites, MJ Harden’s fixed-wing aircraft or both — for either imagery or data collection,” explained Fulton. “With these agreements – which provide easy access to multi-sensor data – a full range of options are available to best serve clients on a case-by-case basis.”
“GeoEye and MJ Harden are teaming with ImageTree because of their expertise in using remote-sensing information; combined with field measurements inputs, automated software and advanced mathematics, to develop accurate forestry inventories,” said Joel Campbell, senior director of product management at GeoEye.
Campbell added, “Our expertise is in the capture and processing of exceptional quality information products, services and solutions, including imagery suitable for forest management applications, and ImageTree’s expertise is in the development of remote-sensing systems that are necessary to facilitate visual analytics and feature extraction. The combined resources make this a powerful partnership for offering forest management companies innovative solutions,” he said.
