GE Energy Signs OEM Agreement with Industrial Defender, Helping to Protect the Power Industry's Critical Infrastructure - GE Energy will Offer Industrial Defender's Technology Suite as a Value-Added Solution to Tackle Electric Industry's Cyber Security and Compliance Challenges
ATLANTA, GA.-February 25, 2009-GE Energy today announced a global OEM agreement with Industrial Defender, a leader in Cyber Risk ProtectionT for critical infrastructure industries, headquartered in Foxborough, Mass. Under the terms of the agreement, GE Energy will offer Industrial Defender's technology suite to customers. The new offering is a value-added cyber-security technology integrated with smart grid automation technologies, such as energy management systems, distribution management systems and substation automation solutions.
This combination will enable electric utilities to effectively and efficiently address their cyber-security needs and help to secure the emerging smart grid roadmap under development to enhance reliability, availability and efficiency of the electric power grid globally.

The integration of the Industrial Defender technology suite into GE Energy's transmission and distribution solutions will help to enhance the cyber security of the global electric power ecosystem. It also will help assist North American bulk electricity providers in meeting the government's North American Electric Reliability Corporation-Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC-CIP) compliance requirements by providing robust cyber security protection and compliance management capabilities.
