Awards across the Globe for the World’s First Wide Format Océ TonerPearls Printer

December 10, 2008, Trumbull, CT – Océ, a global leader in digital document management and delivery, has already received multiple awards for the new Océ ColorWave™ 600 printer just months after its worldwide launch, including the iF Product Design Award in Germany, the Good Design Award in Japan, the Editor’s Choice Award in the UK and the “MUST SEE 'EM”® Award at GRAPH EXPO® in the U.S. These prestigious awards acknowledge the immediate success and great potential of the world’s first wide format Océ TonerPearls™ printer.  


iF Product Design Award in Germany

Even before the official launch on May 7, 2008, the Océ ColorWave 600 printer received an iF Product Design Award 2008. The International Forum Design institute is a renowned independent organization with its roots in the Hannover exhibition center. The iF Product Design Awards recognize products which represent innovation and high-quality design standards. The recognition of the Océ ColorWave 600 product design with this award is an acknowledgement of Océ’s continued ambition to excel in the areas of functional and innovative design.


Good Design Award in Japan

On October 8, 2008 the Oce ColorWave 600 printer received the Good Design Award in Japan. The Good Design Award is Japan’s only comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system. This system itself has its origins in the "Good Design Selection System" (generally known as the "G-Mark System"). This design award is renowned in Asia and supports companies dedicated to design and state-of-the-art production. Comments from the judges on the Océ ColorWave 600 printer included praise for the “...innovative shapes...” which are “…different from conventional large format printers...” as well as stating that the Océ ColorWave 600 printer “…excels also in maintenance, and the interface in the operation parts and guidance are refined.”


Editor’s Choice Award in the UK

Business Info is a UK-based business equipment magazine and website for small and medium-sized businesses to help directors and managers make informed purchasing decisions. The Océ ColorWave 600 printer received the Business Info Editor’s Choice Award acknowledging the printer to be a “…great addition to the wide format printer market…” and it “…meets the demand for devices that can print in color and mono without compromise.”


MUST SEE ‘EM Award at GRAPH EXPO in the U.S.

At the recent GRAPH EXPO conference in Chicago, the Océ ColorWave 600 printer received a MUST SEE ‘EM Award. The MUST SEE ‘EM recognition program, part of the EXECUTIVE OUTLOOK Conference, highlights the most unique, innovative and compelling products and services at GRAPH EXPO. The MUST SEE ‘EM Awards, sponsored by PrintCom Consulting Group, are presented to products and technologies that exemplify compelling innovation in the graphic communications industry.

About the Océ ColorWave 600 Printer and Océ CrystalPoint™ Technology

The Océ ColorWave 600 printer is based on Océ CrystalPoint technology. This unique technology, developed entirely by Océ, utilizes solid Océ TonerPearls toner. During the printing process, the toner is converted into a gel, which is jetted onto plain paper or other media surfaces. This tonergel jetting technique produces crisp, high quality prints, which are direct dry, water fast and robust enough for outdoor use. The Océ ColorWave 600 printer prints these images with a speed of up to half a minute for an E-size drawing, making it one of the fastest wide format color printers on the market.
