Industry experts line up for ESRI EMEA User Conference PDF Print E-mail
Written by ESRI UK
Friday, 26 September 2008
26 September 2008 – ESRI, leading provider of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), today announced the vast array of industry track presentations taking place at this year’s Europe, Middle East and Africa User Conference, running from 28-30 October at London’s QEII Conference Centre.

Over 120 organisations representing nine different markets including Utilities, Telecommunications, Government, Business and Commercial, Defence and Public Safety, will be sharing their GIS experiences with delegates. Demonstrating the conference’s theme of ‘GIS for everyday life’, speakers include: RSA Group, Welsh Water, Kingdom of Bahrain, European Environment Agency, NATO, Cheshire County Council, Ordnance Survey, South Yorkshire Police, Transport for London, Government of Catalonia, Manchester Airport and BP.

“This year’s Industry Track programme is a real-life showcase for the far-reaching benefits of GIS, underlining how indispensable it is becoming in a wide range of industries,” commented Richard Waite, Managing Director, ESRI (UK). “GIS visionaries will be sharing examples of the positive business benefits GIS can bring – at department level, company-wide or even to the industry sector itself – enabling others in the GIS community to benefit from their experiences.”

The Industry Track programme containing the user presentations will be running on day two and three of the ESRI EMEA User Conference (Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 October 2008) following the opening day plenary session on Tuesday 28 October, where Jack Dangermond, President of ESRI Inc, will be joined by keynote speakers including David Shukman, BBC Environment and Science correspondent. For the full agenda and conference registration details please visit: www.gisforeverydaylife.com

The ESRI Europe, Middle East and Africa User Conference 2008 will see more than 1,000 attendees from 60 countries gathering at one of the primary events in the EMEA GIS industry calendar.  Limited opportunities remain for companies wanting to sponsor the EMEA User Conference. Current Platinum sponsors and exhibitors include IBM, Navteq and ITT.
