DENVER – BrainSpark Media, a Denver-based national interactive agency, recently launched the new corporate Web site for GeoEye, a premier provider of innovative geospatial products and solutions. GeoEye chose BrainSpark Media to design and build their corporate Web site (www.geoeye.com) in preparation for the September 2008 launch of the company’s new satellite, GeoEye-1.
Additionally, BrainSpark Media has created a media-focused micro-site for delivery of information and announcements surrounding the upcoming launch of GeoEye-1 (http://launch.geoeye.com) and is presently helping GeoEye incorporate its new web design into other applications.
“At a time when our entire team has been tasked with extraordinary responsibilities leading up to the GeoEye-1 satellite launch, BrainSpark Media was able to take our vision and objectives for the new Web presence and produce exactly what we wanted with reliability and relative ease,” says Mark Brender, VP Communications and Marketing, GeoEye. “We are very pleased with the results and the positive influence the Web site projects have had on our overall branding initiatives, both online and offline.”
“We are incredibly excited about our growing involvement with GeoEye, particularly in light of the upcoming GeoEye-1 launch. The superior products and services offered by GeoEye have worldwide influence most of us take for granted. We look forward to a long-standing relationship with this remarkable company,” says George Gastis, president, BrainSpark Media.
The GeoEye Web site project consisted of three primary phases; 1) strategy and visual design, 2) copywriting and content development, and 3) site construction and application development. The project team first conducted extensive research that included surveying dozens of internal and external GeoEye stakeholders, reviewing industry and market research, and analyzing historical site traffic. The results and findings provided the strategic foundation for all project phases that followed, with the ultimate goal of designing the new site to serve the needs of GeoEye’s target audiences; customers, employees, investors, media and the general public.
GeoEye’s commitment to a user-centric Web presence was further reinforced by multiple iterations of usability testing conducted by BrainSpark throughout development and leading up to the Web site launch.
Other critical project objectives included creating a clean and contemporary visual design that showcased the depth and breadth of GeoEye’s vast imagery archive and supporting services and solutions. To complement the new look and feel, BrainSpark also executed a complete copy rewrite of the site to establish a concise, articulate and current corporate voice and message when communicating with their audience through the primary communication vehicle, GeoEye.com. BrainSpark also developed a number of features and functionality that included an interactive image gallery, content management tools, a Google site search utility, the development of two private partner portals, and integration with third-party media center and careers service providers.
