Imagery Combines Accuracy & Savings to provide imagery for certification ROCHESTER, NY – July 24, 2008 -- Pictometry International Corp., a leading provider of georeferenced aerial image libraries whose proprietary technology is used globally to capture oblique image libraries, announces the launch of Pictometry AccuPlus™.
This new Pictometry suite of products combines Pictometry’s proprietary oblique image capture process with its extensive photogrammetric experience and state-of-the-art Optech Gemini LiDAR™ system. Combined, these features form AccuPlus which was designed to give customer three distinct, high accuracy data sets (oblique and ortho-mosaic imagery as well as LiDAR).
Pictometry captures the AccuPlus datasets simultaneously, using only two aerial flights. (More traditional image capture methods would typically require three flight captures.) As a result, time-based differences in imagery are nearly eliminated. These features and more enable AccuPlus imagery to meet accuracy levels needed for local certification. The Pictometry AccuPlus suite of products is intended for GIS mappers, assessors, and others who want greater accuracy or who require authoritative tools for street centerlines, tax map generation and more.
“AccuPlus saves dollars and makes sense,” said Dante Pennacchia, Pictometry’s Chief Marketing Officer, explaining how Pictometry customers from Philadelphia to Los Angeles have recognized the value AccuPlus provides. “With AccuPlus, 1+1 actually equals 3 -- three sets of imagery captured in two flights. That’s a difference that can translate to real savings and it is a distinct difference Pictometry can provide. AccuPlus is just another way we are showing our commitment to our customers – passing on savings and being the one stop resource they can trust.”
