Written by Weather Underground
22 July 2008

WunderMap™ displays the current position, strength and movement of every tropical storm across the world that threatens to become a hurricane, typhoon or cyclone. Users can currently view Tropical Storm Dolly's historical path, moving across the Gulf of Mexico. The service also displays its projected path and strength as it moves towards land, in addition to the wind radius around the center of the storm.

Track the Current Position and Projected Path of Tropical Storm Dolly at www.wunderground.com/wundermap/hurricane

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(July 22, 2008) - Weather Underground, the nation's first online provider of weather related content, today announced the availability of a new hurricane-tracking product on its web site www.wunderground.com.

"Dolly can be tracked in real time, providing valuable information to residents in Mexico and Texas who are threatened by this storm," said Alan Steremberg, President and co-founder of Weather Underground. "The unique aspect of tracking hurricane activity on WunderMap™ is that users can overlay animated radar and satellite layers on top of the storm tracks."

Users can go straight to the tracker at www.wunderground.com/wundermap/hurricane. Alternatively, one can navigate to it from the homepage by clicking on WunderMap™ and selecting the Hurricane layer. The service ingests data from The National Hurricane Center in Miami.

For more in-depth hurricane analysis and commentary, Weather Underground's Director of Meteorology, Jeff Masters, writes one of the most popular weather blogs on the web at www.wunderground.com/blog/Jeff Masters. People can also view public hurricane advisories on Weather Underground's Tropical section at www.wunderground.com/tropical.

About WunderMap™

The Web's most user-friendly and interactive weather map, WunderMap™ is a visual display of weather layers that are plotted and overlaid on a dynamic map interface. Users can choose from a variety of layers including current conditions and forecasts from over 16,000 personal weather stations, animated radar, severe weather and tornado warnings, live webcam images and animated infrared or visible satellite imagery.

WunderMap displays: the current position, Dolly's historical path, the storm's projected path and strength. Currently, Tropical Storm Dolly's path can be seen online at
www.wunderground.com/wundermap/hurricane .
