3001 Awarded JALBTCX U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Surveying and Mapping Services Contract  E-mail
Written by 3001
18 July 2008
Team competency and experience collecting and analyzing hyperspectral data, hydrographic, and topographic lidar data aids contract win.

July 17, 2008 – Fairfax, VA – 3001, the geospatial company®, today announced an award of an indefinite delivery contract (IDC) for surveying and mapping services by the U.S. Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mobile District, which supports the Joint Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise (JALBTCX) National Coastal Mapping Program and other programs assigned to the Mobile District and South Atlantic Division.  The IDC has a maximum value of $7.5 million dollars ($7.5M) over a three-year period.

3001 has built a comprehensive and talented geospatial support team to provide the depth required to complete this contract.  Team 3001, which includes Blom Aerofilms, ITRES Research and others, was selected based on their knowledge and experience collecting and processing airborne hydrographic and topographic lidar, hyperspectral data collection and analysis, and GPS using the USACE Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDFIE).  The project area covers the U.S. coastline and its territories, including high-resolution data capture and processing at federal project sites.  The processed data will be used to provide seamless digital terrain models (DTMs) from onshore and offshore data.

3001 has worked as a prime contractor for USACE for more than 30 years providing surveying and mapping services, which include airborne imagery acquisition, Lidar acquisition, GIS services, and digital nautical and navigation charting.  3001 is currently under contract with six USACE districts and has supported 20 districts with geospatial services.
