Sewall Hires Robert S. Berardo as Utilities Solutions Manager for Mid-Atlantic Region

(Old Town, Maine—9 July 2008) James W. Sewall Company is pleased to announce the hire of GIS consultant Robert S. Berardo as the company’s Solutions Manager for municipal and privately owned utilities in the Mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Berardo will drive the company’s business development in the utilities industry and provide GIS consulting services to Sewall industry clients in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
Mr. Berardo brings 20 years’ experience in GIS consulting for municipal water and wastewater utilities and privately owned electric, gas and telecommunications companies in the New York Tri-State area. As Executive Consultant at PlanGraphics, he assisted New York City in creating an enterprise utility GIS used extensively in emergency management, and as Monmouth County GIS Coordinator, developed one of the largest consortium GIS programs in New Jersey. This program, which streamlined business functions across County departments, agencies, and municipalities, was awarded the First Annual ESRI Special Achievement in GIS. At Schoor DePalma, he was GIS Department Director and lead consultant for the company’s municipal GIS implementation projects, developing GIS for over 50 New Jersey municipalities including the City of Camden, the City of Orange, and Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA).
As an adjunct professor at Monmouth University and Brookdale Community College, Mr. Berardo has taught various courses in GIS, conducted workshops at industry conferences, and published numerous papers and articles for industry publications. He is completing an MA in GIS/History from Monmouth University and currently holds a BS in Marine Science/Oceanography from Richard Stockton State College. He has extensive expertise in ESRI Arc software applications.
