 The event comprises four parts;
Seminar (2 days, new)
Rally with navigation systems
Workshops (new)
Exhibition (2 days, new)

Seminar
After successful one day seminars at the previous events, we have expanded the seminar into two
days.

Over 40 presentations will be given during the two days.
The following subjects will be discussed;
GPS functionality in any portable devices; which opportunities for the channel?
The fight for shelf space, mobile phones v. PND's
GPS, Galileo and Glonass
Retail trends for navigation products/services
Google and Microsoft; the new navigation players
The role of the operators
Location Bases Services, the holy grail?
Car of the future / Car communication, new business models
New markets for navigation, the walker and the cyclist
Telematics (incl. toll collection in Europe)

During day one, two tracks will be focused at the retail channel.

Why you need to be at this seminar:
A unique opportunity to get direct access to the biggest names in the industry. Network and make
partnerships with leading companies in the world of Navigation.
The market is changing dramatically. Learn how this affects your business and make sure that you can
make money by choosing the right direction for your company; not just businesswise, but also
technology wise.

Navigation Rally, “Navigation Today”
In the previous rallies in 2005, 2006 and 2007 the participating rally teams had to accomplish several
different tasks during each lap. Concurrently the teams had to validate each navigation system they
tested.
During the 2008 edition the rally will take place on the 7th of October. On this day the competitors
will drive several laps, to point out the best navigation system and also to win the “Best Navigation
Team 2008” trophy.
This year the rally will be more challenging and will have new unique components;
Intense usage of several types of navigation equipment (multimodal)
Personal Navigation Devices
Mobile phones with GPS (for on and offboard)
In dash systems (new)
real time comparison of tracking and tracing (each car will have a tracking and tracing device)
mobile database connection for real time surveys
a challenging rally, also for experienced drivers and navigators (organized by a professional team of rally organizers).
A maximum of 50 teams can participate in this unique rally, which will be held on the normal open
roads of the Benelux.
Based on the test results of all rally teams, the vendor of the best tested system will receive the cup for
the best tested system and/or the cup for the editor’s choice during the award ceremony.
The ceremony will take place during the dinner in the evening of October 7th.

More info about the rally seminar and previous events visit www.navigationevent.com

Workshops
New in this edition are workshops for the different players in the channel. During the event all major
players from the channel (vendors, distributors, retailers, operators etc.) will be present.
This is the ultimate opportunity to organize workshops to explain the latest products/services.
Workshops will be organized by;
Vendors
Distributors
Map suppliers
Content providers
etc.

More info about the workshops and previous events visit www.navigationevent.com

Exhibition, “All about navigation”, free for anyone from the channel
The exhibition will take place on October 7th and 8th 2008.
Unlike the previous events, every attendee of the seminar as well as everyone who works within the
channel can attend the exhibition for free, after registration.
During the day more than 40 exhibitors will show their products and services in the exhibition halls.
The exhibition will be open on the October 7th from 10:00 till 22:00 and on October 8th from 10:00 till
21:00. In this way anybody from the channel has plenty of time to visit, even after a working day.

Nowhere else will the visitor find such a concentration of all players in the navigation industry.
The opportunity to get direct access to the biggest names in the industry.
Network, make partnerships and do business are the keywords.
With an expected growth of more than 100% over last year we will create a huge opportunity for each
exhibitor.
